Only 4% of American hold Biblical worldview, researcher finds
And we can thank the American corporate church for their appeasement of the world rather than the Gospel
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.—Romans 12:2
Research out of Arizona Christian University (ACU) has found that only 4% of American adults hold a Biblical worldview.
The research was conducted by Dr. George Barna, the director of research for ACU’s cultural research center.
Barna has been conducting the research for many years for the Barna Group’s American Worldview Inventory.
The woefully low number is nothing new. The 4% figure is the same as was found in 2003. The highest I found was in 2009 when the research found only 9% of American adults with a Biblical worldview. On the definition, the Barna Group reported in 2009:
“For the purposes of the survey, a ‘biblical worldview’ was defined as believing that absolute moral truth exists; the Bible is totally accurate in all of the principles it teaches; Satan is considered to be a real being or force, not merely symbolic; a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by trying to be good or do good works; Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth; and God is the all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the world who still rules the universe today. In the research, anyone who held all of those beliefs was said to have a biblical worldview.”
There are seven specific beliefs for a Biblical worldview according to the ACU which are:
An orthodox, biblical understanding of God.
All human beings are sinful by nature; every choice we make has moral considerations and consequences.
Knowing Jesus Christ is the only means to salvation, through our confession of sin and reliance on His forgiveness.
The entire Bible is true, reliable, and relevant, making it the best moral guide for every person, in all situations.
Absolute moral truth exists—and those truths are defined by God, described in the Bible, and are unchanging across time and cultures.
The ultimate purpose of human life is to know, love, and serve God with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul.
Success on earth is best understood as consistent obedience to God—in thoughts, words, and actions.
As for this year’s research, the 4% figure is down two points from 6% prior to the covid scam. While churches across the country slavishly obeyed the government as master and shut down over fear of an alleged cold virus, “Americans tinkered with many things…—from home-improvement projects to baking sourdough bread—but improving their worldview apparently was not one of them,” as ACU reported.
The research found that the largest worldview is the World Citizen category which effectively holds to a postmodern worldview. The ACU reported:
“These are people who may embrace a few biblical principles, but generally believe and behave in ways that are distinct from biblical teaching. This group has grown substantially from the 69% identified in 2020.”
Those holding a Biblical worldview declined in every group except for black Americans, which saw a one-point rise from 3% to 4 %. Professing Christians dropped from 9% to 6%. The largest drop was a six-point drop among self-described born-again Christians, dropping from 19% to 13%.
Of course, a majority of Americans profess to be Christian. Certainly, we can never expect perfect numbers in a fallen world. But the vast majority of professing Christians, I’m thinking in the 80% to 90% range, should hold a Biblical worldview. Why aren’t they? Well, we can look to the false gospel of cultural Christianity promoted in the vast majority of the American Corporate Churches.
In 2022, Barna’s research found pitiful numbers among the pastors of America. The 2022 research found that only 37% of American pastors hold a Biblical worldview. The highest number was among senior/lead pastors (41%) and the lowest among executive pastors (4%). The number was 28% among associate/assistant pastors, 13% among teaching pastors and 12% among children’s/youth pastors.
As for this year’s numbers, Barna said:
“When you put the data in perspective, the biblical worldview is shuffling toward the edge of the cliff. As things stand today, biblical theism is much closer to extinction in America than it is to influencing the soul of the nation. The current incidence of adults with the biblical worldview is the lowest since I began measuring it in the early 1990s.
Young people, in particular, are largely isolated from biblical thought in our society and are the most aggressive at rejecting biblical principles in our culture.
Facilitating a return to biblical thinking and living in America will take an intentional, strategic, and consistent effort by the remaining population that represents this biblical approach to life.
People do not develop a biblical worldview randomly or by default. The impact of arts and entertainment, government, and public schools is clearly apparent in the shift away from biblical perspectives to a more experiential and emotional form of decision-making.
It will require parents, in particular, and cultural leaders who care about this matter to energetically and creatively persuade children and their influencers to embrace biblical principles as the foundation for personal decision-making.
Biblical worldview is hardly a mass movement at this point, but there is some evidence indicating that more people are waking up to the concept, the importance, and the process of biblical worldview development.
Perhaps the ugliness and heavy-handedness of cancel culture has stimulated greater interest in the potential benefits of adopting a worldview based on love and service in shaping both our culture and individual lives.”
American Christians Need to Repent
These numbers should appall all of us who call ourselves Christians, but we shouldn’t be surprised based on what we see in America.
Look at the fact that gay mirage (marriage) is widely accepted and approved of by the populace. Look at the “pro-life” industry that runs away from Godly justice to fight for worldly regulations instead. Look at the Americans fine with being called “nonessential” from a government that never had authority to shut us down but was able to because the people are weak. And look at all the unjust wars, most of which have been supported by the pulpit.

A few weeks ago, I saw a social media post which stated:
“Americans wiped out mostly all of the Christians in Iraq. Most Christian leaders in America were silent. Americans then went on to wipe out a huge portion of Christians in Syria. Most Christian leaders in America were silent. Americans are now wiping out the most devout Christians in Ukraine. Most Christian leaders in America are silent.”
America’s Military Industrial Complex has been creating chaos around the world to start wars which they profit off of. And Christians, especially in the Middle East, are being annihilated. The light of those Christians is being extinguished by our wicked government. And almost every time, the American churches and CONservatives support them.
And now we have the support for Zionist Israel, an atheist society that most American churches call “God’s chosen people.” What do “God’s chosen people” in atheistic Israel think about those who truly follow Jesus Christ?
Many might know the recent spat between Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens. Quite frankly, I think it’s more theater than anything else. But, one of the “controversial” statements from Owens was that “Christ is King.” That’s right, declaring “Christ is King” is “controversial.”
The Jerusalem Post reported that that declaration is viewed “as an antisemitic dog-whistle” by “invoking ancient anti-Jewish tropes through its use of Biblical language and its appeal to the Christian faith.”
Appealing to Christianity is “antisemitism,” according to the Jerusalem Post. And yet, the Zionist Christians cheer this nonsense on. Michael Brown, for The Christian Post, suggested declaring “Christ is King” is something that’s been “hijacked,” and that a “clarification is certainly called for” from Owens for a simple statement of truth that every professing Christian should understand.
The American Corporate Church runs away from the Gospel, runs away from Christ. It tries to appease the world. It wants to be loved by the world. They don’t preach the true Gospel which can bring people together. Listen to the testimony of a Jewish-Arab couple in Israel:
The pair, who weren’t allowed to marry in Israel because interracial marriage is banned in “the greatest democracy” in the Middle East, come from different backgrounds. They’ve been told they’re supposed to hate each other. But their marriage has lasted. It’s worked. Why? They both have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Chuck Baldwin, pastor at Liberty Fellowship in Montana, said:
“God’s chosen people are not any race but are all people of all Races who come to Faith in Jesus Christ, all one in Christ regardless of race….
When you've got evangelical pastors who are lining up in perfect agreement with the Antichrist news media of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and all the rest, something is wrong with the evangelical pulpit. When the evangelical preachers are lining up with the antichrist Joe Biden and all the antichrists around him, and yet they're all preaching the same thing. They're all saying the same thing, they're all on the same page. It means that the pulpits of our churches have sold out to the beastly system they may or may not know it, but that's exactly what they've done.
Recent examples that illustrate what I'm saying, the covid fraud. You and I both know that was a fraud from day number one. You and I both know that that was an attempt to enslave the people of the United States and to expunge our Declaration of Independence and our Bill of Rights and to put us under subjection of their New World Order.
That's exactly what they were trying to do, and for three years… we were no longer the United States of America. For three years, we were enslaved by a medical tyranny in this country. So, who went along with it? All the media, all the government, all the health departments and the medical industry. All the pharmaceutical corporations, the businesses in general, the corporations went along with it, and the vast majority of pastors in America locked stop, step in line with that same narrative. What does that tell you? That tells you the beastly system had captured the hearts and the minds of all of them. Preachers are supposed to be the ones who resist the Devil.
Franklin Graham actually had a program by where he had doctors or nurses or medical personnel, and he set up his own clinics…. He had clinics where his Samaritan Purse ministry would go around and give the vaccine shots to anybody that would take them. And of course he said he was doing it out of compassion. Yeah, he was also getting paid for every single shot that he administered from the federal government. Now we know the truth about it….
The Ukraine war, another illustration. The media Gets behind it, the businesses get behind it, the government officials get behind it, the pastors get behind it. Everybody’s on the same page once again. The antichrist media and the antichrist politicians are in perfect agreement with the evangelical pastors in America saying the same thing….
God isn't with unjust war. I'm sorry, it's not God's will. It's an unjust war, and now we got Israel…. They're all lining up again. I'm just showing you how this beastly system has taken over the mouthpieces, the spokesman of the country regardless of whether it's secular, political, economic, religious. It doesn't matter. They're all saying the same thing….
Be on guard against the spirit of war. In the last week, I’ve heard Christians say that America should obliterate Damascus, Syria. I've heard Christians say America should nuke Iran out of existence. I've heard Christians say that the Palestinian people should be completely annihilated. Christians, yes sir pastors. Do they not realize that there are tens of thousands of our Christian brothers and sisters in all of those countries?
That's right. the Palestinians have a large percentage of Christians among them. The hospital that Israel bombed was a Baptist Christian hospital. Today, in church, they're all singing about the love of Jesus and the pastors tell them to love their brothers. What about your Palestinian brothers and sisters? Did you know that in the Arab world, among the Muslim nations, Christianity is growing faster than almost any region anywhere in the world? Muslim people are coming to Christ by the thousands and thousands with no help from the evangelical churches of America. I might add, not only do they get no help in evangelizing these precious people… the pastors of America just say wipe them out, kill them all….
My dear brothers and sisters, America's unjust wars have brought judgment upon our country. Don't talk about God is going to judge America. God is judging America as I speak. The Judgment has already begun. If you can't see that, you are spiritually blind. The judgment is here. America's unjust wars have brought God's judgment upon our country.
The war against our unborn babies, God will not tolerate that forever. The war against our working families and our economy trying to crush the middle class of the United States so that they might become serfs for the rich and powerful. The war against the natural laws of morality, decency, honesty and justice.
Those of us that have lived a little while could have never imagined a few years ago that this country would be accepting the perversion that is not only accepting but promoting, endorsing and trying to force the country to accept. The kind of behavior that just a few years ago the most debauched person you'd find at the bar would not even dare to discuss, and now it's taught in the public schools of America without shame, infecting and poisoning the minds of the innocent little ones of our country. what kind of a future are they going to have in their minds and their hearts being corrupted with the vile, the licentious, unspeakably, unholy things that are being put into their hearts and minds five days a week in the public school system of this country. And then add to that the media and the entertainment industry and all these performers on television and the movie industry filling their minds with filth.”
