Podcast: Restoring the Constitution-Trump indictment and attacks on the 2nd Amendment discussed
Federico Lines and I discussed the indictment of Donald Trump and the attacks the Second Amendment after the shooting at a Nashville school
Federico Lines, of States Rights Radio, and I discussed the political theater surrounding the indictment of Donald Trump and the latest attacks on our gun rights in the second edition of “Restoring the Constitution.”

I also wanted to provide some more thoughts on the topic and sources.
The Great Trump Distraction
Before I get into this, there’s a lot of coverage of the Trump indictment suggesting this is the first time a U.S. president has been arrested. Well, not true.
I saw this nugget last night after my discussion with Lines. I probably would have brought this up had I seen it prior.
But did you know that Ulysses S. Grant was arrested in 1872? That was while Grant was in office as president. The crime, according to Smithsonian Magazine, was speeding in his horse-drawn carriage. Grant had actually been given a warning one day for speeding and was caught the next day speeding again in a race with his friends.
Just thought that was an interesting story in history. Now, onto the political theater of today.
As we all know, Trump was “indicated” last week. Actually, he was indicted over allegations related to hush money payments to a porn star.
I’ll start by recognizing that what I’m about to write may not be popular with many who read my Substack. But I’m only interested in seeking the truth, and I will not succumb to the tribalism of the day by telling a tribe what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. All I ask is read what I have to write and consider it.
David Knight said:
“We should not rejoice when anybody is falsely prosecuted. We should not rejoice about political persecution. But I’m about as interested in defending Donald Trump over political persecution as Donald Trump was interested in defending his followers over political persecution. I guess he had no use for them after he fleeced them of all of their money. That’s what this guy is all about.”
I share those exact sentiments. I have no interest defending Trump, the man who locked us down. Trump placed us all under house arrest in 2020 over a cold virus, called us “nonessential.” And he stole billions of dollars from us to produce a bioweapon shot at “warp speed.”
I recognize that this is a political prosecution. But spare me the heightened rhetoric of this somehow being a threat to our “democracy” (should be republic, but our dumbed down society prefers “two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner”).
We’ve got Mark Levin screeching that “this is a tyranny now” and Glenn Beck saying this will lead to a “currency collapse” and a “police state.”
Am I dreaming? Seriously? WE WERE CALLED NONESSENTIAL. That was three years ago by Trump himself. We have been living in a police state for decades (just see the documentation from The Rutherford Institute). Trump was the biggest spending president ever (I’m sure Biden will pass him, but Trump still tops the list today). Both parties have been destroying our currency for decades. But suddenly we have tyranny because poor little put upon Trump is facing a little legal battle?
But everything revolves around Trump, according to these so-called “conservatives.” You being called nonessential, not tyranny. Are you seeing how insane those comments are?
Ultimately, this is nothing more than political theater, a distraction, a circus. This is professional wrestling, setting up “heroes” and “villains” for the two main tribes to support and oppose. Make no mistake, Trump loves every second of this. I’m sure of it. He’s making loads of money off his supporters.
That’s right, this man who we’re told is a billionaire is gladly taking money from people who no doubt are largely middle class or poor.
But, if this is such a farce (which I believe it is), Trump can easily beat this. He doesn’t need a dime from you.
Here’s a little free advice to Trump. Invoke your Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. Just shut up, and this will go away rather quickly because it is a political prosecution.
“Does anyone doubt that the Giant Orange actor will listen to his incompetent legal team? If he had one ounce of sincerity in him, Trump would recognize this as potentially a seminal moment in American history. By refusing to submit to such injustice, Trump would effectively be putting up the first defense the Stupid Party has since the reign of “Woke” terror began. It would be a Fort Sumter moment. I think it’s safe to predict that Trump will go to New York, and forego the perfect opportunity to make a bold statement against judicial overreach and outright tyranny. That’s because he’s a part of the production. In fact, he’s the star.”
Trump, however, will not shut up. He needs to be the center of attention, and he wants you to keep sending him money.
My hope is that Trump supporters show him the same support he showed to the Jan. 6 folks who continue to be denied due process for defending him. Trump has not lifted a damn finger for them. He doesn’t care. What he cared about was your money. Just consider, you had to give over $8,000 to the “Stop the Steal” fundraisers before one cent went to challenging the 2020 election. Instead, that money was going to Trump and the RNC.
And have you not learned that Jan. 6 was a setup? But you’re going to go out a rally to be setup again?
Think about it, Trump literally is warning “potential death & destruction” over “false charges” against him. He’s the one setting you up. He’s calling you violent. That’s who he’s calling violent. Don’t take the bait.
Trump is not a conservative. He did not govern as a conservative. Yes, this is a political prosecution, and you can defend him from afar on this charge. Just please, don’t rally for him, and don’t give him your money. He doesn’t need it.
“To be clear, we have no objection to the Donald’s relentless and frequently unhinged attacks on the ruling elites of Washington, Wall Street, the mainstream media and the Fortune 500. Indeed, his one abiding virtue is that he had all the right enemies—the very people whose policies and ideologies threaten the future of America as we have known it.”
“But while Trump had the right enemies, he was hopelessly wrong on the substance of policy. Indeed, when it comes to the GOP’s core mission amidst the on-going tussle of democratic governance— standing up for free markets, fiscal rectitude, sound money, personal liberty and small government—the Donald is not remotely a conservative, let alone even a half-assed Republican….”
“So the essence of the moment is this: Lock (Trump) out of both the nomination and the Oval Office. The future of the Republic depends upon it.”
“We detail the Donald’s miserable record as a big spender, easy money-man, hard-core protectionist, immigrant-basher, militarist and all-around statist below, but we need to puncture divisively the myth of the Great MAGA Economy right up front.”
“That’s because a lot of well-meaning Republicans are willing to overlook all of his egregious egotism and petty bombast and his endless departures from conservative economic principles because he purportedly delivered the Greatest Economy Ever.”
“In a word, he didn’t. Not remotely. On the bread and butter matters of growth and jobs, in fact, his record is among the worst of modern presidents, not the best.”
I also share the sentiments of Gary Barnett who wrote:
“This could turn out to be the beginning of something big. If every politician were to be arrested and thrown in jail, what a wonderful world this would be. That would be a good start.”
Honestly, name me the president in any of our lifetimes that doesn’t deserve to be in prison. They all do. They’ve all violated their oaths to the Constitution. And Trump’s biggest crime was locking us down and foisting on us the death jab.
Again, I’m sure I probably offended some people. But Charles Spurgeon said, “If you want to change the future, you’re going to have to trouble the present.”
Ultimately, my criticism isn’t of Trump. It’s of those who continue to believe Trump’s their political savior. There’s never been a political savior. EVER. We have a responsibility to fight for our own liberty.
Attacks on the Second Amendment
As for the Second Amendment, Lines and I did discuss it considering the wicked shooting by a self-identified “transgender” woman (who identified as a man) on a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee. Our discussion centered around the Constitutional implications and not the shooting. But Information Liberation provides some details on video from the school and body camera video.
As far as the political response after the shooting, a fair summary of what Lines and I had to say was do not let emotions be our guide.
It’s maddening to me to see events like this be politicized immediately after. This shooting, like all others, has nothing to do with guns. It also has nothing to do with schools not being fortified. This is a cultural problem.
The shooter, ultimately, is the one responsible. And we should always keep that in mind. But our culture has become so morally debased and tribalistic, and we need to correct that.
As far as guns being targeted, Lines and I discussed the leftist attacks. But I did note, the Republicans are also against the Second Amendment.
Trey Gowdy, a former Republican Congressman, went onto Fox News to passionately defend “red flag” gun confiscation laws.
I thought Gowdy was supposed to be some Constitutionalist. I guess not.
If you don’t know what “red flag” laws are, effectively it is the promotion of snitch culture by having people tell the government they no someone is mentally ill so the government will take their guns without due process. This is absolutely unconstitutional, and for Gowdy to support it is shameful.
I’ll also note, Trump supported bans on so-called “assault weapons” after Parkland in 2018 and shootings in 2019, according to Bearing Arms. Oh, and federal gun prosecutions, records were being set under Trump. Bearing Arms reported that “the Biden administration took up right where Trump left off” by maintaining a record pace of “enforcing” federal gun laws.
Sorry, but the Second Amendment says “shall not be infringed.” All federal gun control laws are unconstitutional.
Conclusion
“We have become guinea pigs in a ruthlessly calculated, carefully orchestrated, chillingly cold-blooded experiment in how to control a population and advance a political agenda without much opposition from the citizenry.”
“This is mind-control in its most sinister form.”
“With alarming regularity, the nation is being subjected to a spate of violence that terrorizes the public, destabilizes the country, and gives the government greater justifications to crack down, lock down, and institute even more authoritarian policies for the so-called sake of national security without many objections from the citizenry.”
“Take this latest shooting in Nashville, Tenn.”
“The 28-year-old shooter (a clearly troubled transgender individual in possession of several military-style weapons) opened fire in a Christian elementary school, killing three children and three adults.”
“Already, fingers are being pointed and battle lines are being drawn.”
“Those who want safety at all costs are clamoring for more gun control measures (if not at an outright ban on assault weapons for non-military, non-police personnel), widespread mental health screening of the general population, more threat assessments and behavioral sensing warnings, more CCTV cameras with facial recognition capabilities, more ‘See Something, Say Something’ programs aimed at turning Americans into snitches and spies, more metal detectors and whole-body imaging devices at soft targets, more roaming squads of militarized police empowered to do random bag searches, more fusion centers to centralize and disseminate information to law enforcement agencies, and more surveillance of what Americans say and do, where they go, what they buy and how they spend their time.”
“This is all part of the Deep State’s master plan.”
“Ask yourselves: why are we being bombarded with crises, distractions, fake news and reality TV politics? We’re being conditioned like lab mice to subsist on a steady diet of bread-and-circus politics and an endless spate of crises.”
“Caught up in this ‘crisis of the now,’ the average person has a hard time keeping up with and remembering all of the ‘events,’ manufactured or otherwise, which occur like clockwork in order to keep us distracted, deluded, amused, and insulated from reality.”
