Pride Month Part I: An Open Celebration of Sin
To celebrate pride is to shake your fist at God, and God will not be mocked
“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”—Proverbs 16:18
So, they tell me it’s Pride Month. What they mean to say, its Marching Toward Destruction Month. It’s a celebration of sin, of evil. It’s shaking a fist at God.
Ultimately, it’s a reminder that America is heading toward the fate of Rome. And we’ll see it everywhere, including the corporate world like Target and Disney. And, to be fair, it’s not just America. We’ll see this celebration of sin around the world, especially in the West.
“The ‘pride flag’ was created in 1978, and so it is less than 50 years old.
But this June it will be displayed far more prominently in the U.S. than the American flag.
And it will be flown at the White House and at U.S. government buildings and embassies all over the world.
Never in our history have we flown another flag, and it should deeply alarm all of us that this ‘symbol of defiance’ will be proudly displayed by thousands upon thousands of institutions from coast to coast.
Unfortunately, most of those that are flying this flag never even give much thought to who they are defying.
As I have repeatedly warned my readers, if we stay on the road that we are currently on there is no future for our nation.
So let us hope that millions of Americans wake up and realize what is truly going on, because time is quickly running out.”
Arrogantly, the celebratory sodomites and their straight allies will put on ghastly displays out in the open and engage in sickening acts for all to see, they’ll also expose their foolishness.
One of the lines you’ll constantly hear this month is “love is love,” as if it’s some profound, meaningful statement. It’s not. It’s simply perfunctory, a non-argument for the unthinking masses. Of course, love is love. But guess what, hate is hate. A car is a car. An apple is an apple. Nothing profound. Just a stupid statement befitting a stupid society.
But we must truly understand the insidious nature of this wicked celebration. For the “conservative Christian,” most will focus solely on the sodomites, the so-called “LGBTQ+ community.” But it’s so much deeper than that. It starts with the sin of pride.
Pride is one of the seven deadly sins (Proverbs 6:16-19). In fact, it’s the deadliest sin. Mary Fairchild wrote for Learning Religion:
“The sin of pride is a heart attitude expressed in an unhealthy, exaggerated attention to self and an elevated view of one’s abilities, accomplishments, position, or possessions. Pride has been called ‘the cancer of the soul,’ ‘the beginning of all sin,’ and ‘sin in its final form.’”
Christianity.com noted that pride was what led to Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit thus handcuffing humanity into a fallen state. This was an act of man, through pride, wanting to become God.
While the prideful we’ll be exposed to this month are from the sodomite “community,” pride is found throughout all of society. It’s everywhere around us. And it’s certainly prevalent in our narcissistic age.
And pride must be resisted. Of course, the prideful will demand we submit or face their retribution, but don’t fear them. They are simply weak threats from weak people. They can take a lot from us in this world, but they cannot touch our eternal souls, unless we let them.
Unfortunately, most American Christians in the pathetic Corporate American Churches will submit because they, too, are weak.
But for the real Christian, those speaking truth to an increasingly darkening world, stay strong and prepare for persecution. Wendy McElroy asked at the end of a piece for the Mises Institute, “can a more general violence—a savage civil unrest—be far behind? I believe it is already here.” Indeed, it’s already here, and it will get far worse.
“All sorts of ideas and ideologies are allowed in the public square. But not Christian ones. That exclusion does not comport with what the founders of America intended.”
Although the Christian message may not be respected in the world, we must not let that stop us from delivering it. And, we must not do so with a sense of pride but rather with a sense of humility because “with humility comes wisdom” (Proverbs 11:12).
Christian author and celebrity Kirk Cameron wrote a children’s book, Pride Comes Before The Fall, released just in time for Pride Month. Cameron said:
“I wrote this book to teach kids the importance of humility…. We previewed the book and the kids got so excited because the story has lots of adventure and lots of danger. And the parents loved it because it underscores the importance of humility during a time when children are being taught to celebrate the opposite, which is pride.
And pride, we know from experience and we know from the Bible is dangerous. The Bible says that ‘pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall’ and that ‘it’s better to have a humble spirit with the lowly than to share plunder with the crowd.’… Kids deserve to know the truth and they deserve to know what’s going to lead to their blessing.”
We must fight against this pride. And we must do it with a humble spirit.
Over the weekend, I will be writing more about Pride Month because it’s important to see how this embrace of sin is leading to our destruction. And we must respond to it.
“But He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.’”—James 4:6
