What if the Middle East chaos is the result of an arrogant American foreign policy?
Former Congressman Ron Paul’s 2009 speech
What if American arrogance through meddling in the affairs of others for the cause of empire building, not defense of the American people, is to blame for the ongoing chaos in the Middle East?
I just wanted to provide a flashback to a 2009 speech from former Congressman Ron Paul on the floor of the House of Representatives as war criminal Barrack Obama continued the wars started by the previous war criminal George W. Bush.
As the conflict between Israel and Gaza continues and the American Military Industrial Complex and their bipartisan neocon cronies in Washington, D.C. are preparing for more war, Paul’s “What if” speech from Feb. 12, 2009, remains relevant today.
Paul’s speech:
“Madam Speaker, I have a few questions for my colleagues. What if our foreign policy of the past century is deeply flawed and has not served our national security interests?
What if we wake up one day and realize that the terrorist threat is a predictable consequence of our meddling in the affairs of others and has nothing to do with us being free and prosperous?
What if propping up repressive regimes in the middle east endangers both United States and Israel?
What if someday it dawns on us that losing over 5000 American military personnel in the middle east since 9/11 is not a fair tradeoff for the loss of nearly 3000 American citizens, no matter how many Iraqi, Pakistani and Afghan people are killed or displaced?
What if we finally decided that torture, even if called enhanced interrogation technique, is self destructive and produces no useful information and that contracting it out to a third world nation is just as evil?
What if it is finally realized that war and military spending is always destructive to the economy?
What if all the wartime spending is paid for through the deceitful and evil process of inflating and borrowing?
What if we finally see that wartime conditions always undermine personal liberty?
What if conservatives who preach small government wake up and realize that our interventionist foreign policy provides the greatest incentive to expand the government?
What if conservatives understood once again that their only logical position is to reject military intervention and managing an empire throughout the world?
What if the American people woke up and understood the official reasons for going to war are almost always based on LIES and promoted by war propaganda in order to serve special interest?
What if we as a nation came to realize that the quest for empire eventually destroys all great nations?
What if Obama has no intention of leaving Iraq?
What if a military draft is being planned for the wars that will spread if our foreign policy is not changed?
What if the American people learned the truth that our foreign policy has nothing to do with national security and it never changes from one administration to the next?
What if war and preparation for war is a racket serving the special interest?
What if president Obama is completely wrong about Afghanistan and it turns out worse than Iraq and Vietnam put together?
What if Christianity actually teaches peace and not preventive wars of aggression?
What if diplomacy is found to be superior to bombs and bribes in protecting America?
What happens if my concerns are completely unfounded?
Nothing.
But what happens if my concerns are justified and ignored?
Nothing good.
And I yield back the balance of my time.”
Chaos Reigns as the People are Ruled by Emotion
The above photo is from Brian Shilhavy and Vaccine Impact. I encourage people to read it. There are a lot of lies and war propaganda being permeated right now. The mainstream narrative media doesn’t want you to know that people of differing backgrounds can get along, can actually be friends. That may be the biggest lie being spread.
Israeli-Gaza Conflict: We’ve Got to Question the Narrative
“Let me say the most controversial thing, that I hope will get the extremists on all sides extremely angry with me…. I stand with the Israeli people and I stand with the Palestinian people. I stand against the Israeli government. I stand against the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces). I stand against the settlers and others who would literally cheer as they w…
Christians Killed in Israel-Hamas Conflict
(Before and after photo of Saint Porphyrius Orthodox Church in Gaza struck by Israel on Thursday) “I’m paying a price for raising tough questions and for speaking out. But there’s no other way in my view. We need to keep striving for the pursuit of truth, even when it’s inconvenient. We need to educate ourselves about history, global powers, local and co…
Podcast: Restoring the Constitution-Constitutional War Powers or War Powers Act
This week, Federico Lines, of States Rights Radio, and I discussed the war powers clauses in the U.S. Constitution compared to the War Powers Act of 1973. Our discussion is on the heels of the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict. Certainly, I’ve written about that, but our discussion is about the principles laid out in the Constitution that have been completel…
Dissenting Jewish Voices Americans Should Hear
This will be the fourth piece I’ve written on the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict. The previous three will be posted at the bottom. In two of those pieces, I included information from Brian Shilhavy of Vaccine Impact specifically about some of the most censored information.
Palestinian Christians Call for Ceasefire and Urge Western Christians to Repent
A group of Christians in Palestine have created a petition urging Christians in the West to start supporting their fellow believers who have suffered under the constant bombing campaign of Gaza by the government of Israel. The open letter, which calls for repentance from Christians in the West who have turned a blinds eye to their plight, condemns all at…
