Gazan Children Hold Press Conference, Beg for Peace
The indiscriminate bombing by Israel’s government against civilian Palestinians must stop
“We face extermination, killing, bombs falling over our heads, all of this in front of the world. They lie to the world that they kill the (terrorist), but they kill the people of Gaza, their dreams and their future…. We come to al-Shifa hospital to keep us from bombing…. The occupation is starving us. We don’t find water, food and we drink from the unusable water. We come now to shout and invite you to protect us. We want to live. We want peace. We want to judge the killers of children. We want medicine, food and education. And we want to live as the other children live.”
Those are the words of a Palestinian boy as children in Gaza held a press conference to beg for peace.
There are more pleading for peace:
Dr. Tanya Haj-Hassan, a pediatric intensive care doctor with Doctors Without Borders, recently “painted a pictures,” as she said, of what is going on in Gaza in an interview with the BBC.
Haj-Hassan described it as “avalanche of human suffering” and the “worst humanitarian catastrophe that I’ve experienced in my lifetime.” She continued:
“People keep asking me about medical aid and hospitals and the situation of the hospitals. The entire hospital healthcare system collapsed almost a week ago. It was announced on TV for the whole world to see. And in that week, there has been indiscriminate bombardment. And I don’t even know if indiscriminate is the right term because it’s targeting healthcare facilities, ambulances, churches, mosques, schools, refugee camps, densely populated refugee camps, wiping out entire families in a second, entire multi-generational extended families in a second.
There are almost 1,000 families in the Gaza strip who have had at least two members of their family, at least two members killed in the last three weeks. There are almost 4,000 children who have been killed and identified, excluding almost 1,000 children whose bodies are still trapped under the rubble. Some of them may be alive for a long period before they ultimately die under the rubble….
I think it’s important that I paint a picture, particularly when I’m following a news narrative that almost dismisses this avalanche of suffering that is unprecedented in modern times.”
Haj-Hassan went on to describe an acronym “unique” to Gaza, coined in just the last three weeks. It’s WCNSF, or Wounded Child No Surviving Family.
She described a 10-year-old little girl wounded with a paper with 27 names, her family members, and the girls asked staff to “please look for them under the rubble.” The girl, pointing at her sister, said: “Don’t look for this one… I know she’s already dead.”
Haj-Hassan said:
“And to follow President Biden as he continues to justify and to warmonger, all I can say is this has to stop. It’s a stain on our collective humanity.”
After being interrupted as she called out our Warmonger in Chief, Haj-Hassan was asked if a pause may be negotiated. She responded:
“The word pause to me makes no sense. You pause to nourish and to hydrate a population before you kill them? It just does not make sense to me. You stop the bombardment. That is what the entire global community should be pushing for and insisting on.”
Emily Callahan, a nurse with Doctors Without Borders, described the Palestinian doctors and nurses who refuse to leave so they can provide help for those in need despite knowing there’s a good chance of being targeted for bombardment in a CNN interview.
Where do things stand now? At least 10,000 are dead in Gaza as of Monday, according to ABC News. At least over a third are children.
Mahmoud Daif Allah al-Hamoud, a Jordanian delegate to the United Nations, said:
“I hate to make comparisons in this regard. All human lives are important; Israeli, Palestinian, Ukrainian. How many children were killed in the Ukraine war in 20 months? Six hundred. How many Palestinian children killed in less than four weeks? 3700. Is this acceptable…. This is outrageous, and this has to stop.”
Is this going to end soon? Not with madmen in power who brazenly lie.
Hasan Illaik wrote for The Cradle:
“The scale of Israel's bombardment is akin to Washington's air campaigns in Vietnam, Korea, and Cambodia, and in the early days of its Iraqi ‘Shock and Awe’ invasion. This level of destructive bombardment is historically unprecedented over a geographical area of only 365 square kilometers.
To describe the situation more precisely, the bombs dropped by Israel on the Gaza Strip outweigh the nuclear bomb with which the United States struck the Japanese city of Hiroshima in World War II. In the past few weeks, Gaza has endured the pain of 25,000 tons of explosives - compared to the 15,000 tons of the Hiroshima bomb, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor.
Over 10,000 civilians - including 4,000 children - have been killed by indiscriminate Israeli firepower. An additional 2,200 Palestinians are missing under the rubble, half of whom are children.
Despite this, US officials publicly state that their allies in Tel Aviv have been careful not to cause civilian casualties, and that they continue to caution Israel not to inflict more civilian deaths in Gaza.
But actions speak louder than words, and Washington's behaviors are thunderously in support of escalating the violence. To date, despite last weekend's dazzling display of regional shuttle diplomacy by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the US refuses to strike a ceasefire agreement. Washington has also convinced its Arab allies to agree to continue the war - for now.”
And they’re even talking about dropping nukes on Gaza, an insane notion but one that very well could happen.
That was Amichai Eliyahu, a member of Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, who let the word slip that nuking Gaza is on the table.
Of course, he hand to be disciplined for that because Israel is not supposed to have nukes. But that’s an open secret known for some time.
Timothy Alexander Guzman wrote for Global Research:
“Eliyahu was asked in an interview with Radio Kol Berama ‘whether an atomic bomb should be dropped on the enclave’ and he responded with ‘This is one of the possibilities.’
Eliyahu is a far-right politician who rejects humanitarian aid into Gaza by saying that ‘we wouldn’t hand the Nazis humanitarian aid,’ and that ‘there is no such thing as uninvolved civilians in Gaza.’ He also advocates efforts to retake the Gaza Strip and rebuild Israeli settlements before his government decided to unilaterally withdrew in 2005. Eliyahu was also asked about what would happen to the Palestinian population in the aftermath and he said that ‘They can go to Ireland or deserts; the monsters in Gaza should find a solution by themselves.’
Whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu, a Moroccan-born Israeli citizen, a former nuclear technician exposed Israel’s nuclear weapons factory located in the Negev Desert, not far from the city of Dimona to The Sunday Times of London in 1986. Vanunu was drugged and kidnapped by Mossad agents while in Rome and spent more than 11 years out of 18-year prison sentence in solitary confinement in an Israeli prison….
Israel says that Iran is building a nuclear weapons program which Tehran has repeatedly denied, but it is Israel who has been exposed for having an arsenal of nuclear weapons ready to be used against the Muslim world.”
These are madmen, plain and simple.
